WHAT SHOULD WE CHOOSE IN 2010?
Recently, I have been busy around the cities of Beijing, Shanghai, Zhengzhou, Haikou, especially met lots of friends in Hainan Province, and discussed many different things with them, which brings me some confusion.
Right now, Hainan Province is gradually developing into a international tourist island, and suddenly we feel like going back to those passionate days in 80s, for we can hear boss friends talking about the real estate issues everywhere, and people's enthusiasm for the fortune and money is nothing less than that at the beginning of Hainan Province became the special economic zone.
The speed increased development of economy and special status of regional economy made Hainan get world attention again.
What Hainan choosing?
Hainan, like a pioneer, constantly displays his enthusiasm and persevering spirit of fighting. However, a new prosperous economy recovery can’t just depend on the real estate transaction. During the two sessions, Wei Liucheng, the secretary of Hainan Provincial party Committee, solemnly required that everyone should calm down when they met new opportunities. Several years ago, I wrote a letter to Mr. Wei Liucheng, who was the governor at that time, about Hainan development problems, and I received his serious comments.
Our magazine faces same issues as Hainan Province. The bubble of foundation period can’t last for a long time.
When world economy presents abrupt change and turbulence, China handled the crisis rationally and actively, and won deserving status and comprehensive development opportunity.
The World Hotel Association should how to choose his own ways in this new age? Personally I think we should calm down and concentrate on providing our service about business culture, information and media. World Hotel Association belongs to everybody, so we should share this plate and treasure with more professional elites. And as for what we can get, just let it be, but we do hope that we can gain more about spirits, thoughts and credibility.
No matter in China or World, we always need some people to finish some sociality, public and revolutionary works, and we need some people to organize and execute those non-profit things under a right trend.
In this powerful China and vivid world, our magazine, Hainan Province and the whole hospitality all need to keep a cool mind, face the material temptation rationally, and make a divine dead line in our heart.
In 2009, our magazine used the brand of association to cooperate with some programs, which was a try and also was a disguised investment to the World Hotel Association.
In 2009, we had a slight loss after we paid out all the investment of previous year, I think it was a normal situation, and the good thing was our rational and science management prevent from blindness huge mount investing and ignorant dominating. A business platform need constant invest, if we just look to short time profit, the public platform we build and the credibility won’t be representative. An authority platform needs several years to building, and only after that, the platform can exploit his power.
Our development can’t rush ahead impetuously like previous Hainan, we should hide our ability and bide our time like nowadays China, and make a difference.
In this new year, we should keep the modest attitude, embrace the sunshine with everyone together, and walk into a prosperous future.
